Can I Call a Phone Sex Line From My Mobile?

Yes, from most UK mobiles. Calls to 09 numbers cost the line’s service charge plus your network’s access charge. Some pay-as-you-go, business and family plans bar premium rate numbers. If yours does, ask your network to lift the bar or pay by card instead.

Why some mobiles can’t call 09 numbers

Many networks bar premium rate numbers by default on some plans, especially pay-as-you-go, business accounts and plans set up for children. If you hear a message saying the number can’t be reached, that’s usually the reason.

How to get the bar lifted

Contact your network or check your account settings. Most networks will lift a premium rate bar for the account holder on request. If the phone isn’t yours or is a work phone, don’t ask; use another way to pay.

How much does it cost from a mobile?

The same service charge as from a landline, plus your mobile network’s access charge, which is listed in your tariff. Mobile access charges are sometimes higher than landline ones, so it’s worth checking. See our phone sex cost guide.

Will it show on my bill?

Yes, on contract mobiles it will appear on an itemised bill. On pay-as-you-go, it comes off your credit. Our guide to what shows on your bill covers this in detail.

The short answer

Most UK mobiles can call phone sex lines. If yours can’t, it probably has a premium rate bar. Ask your network to lift it, or pay by card instead.
